Tips for Entering Rodeos:
Click on Online Entry Link in the drop-down menu. Type in your contestant's name, then click on the rodeo you want to enter. Slide the bar underneath each event name from Don’t Ride to Ride to enter an event. The event name and the bar will turn green, indicating you have entered that event. If you are requesting to compete a certain night, slide the preference bar to the night you are requesting. For team roping, click the box beside Team Roping, then follow the prompts. Add any traveling partners or notes to the secretary. When you are done, click Sign Up. Be sure to download the PDF of your entry receipt and screen shot or print it in case there are any problems.
If you do not see your name on the Online Entry Link drop down, you have not completed your NHSRA membership and uploaded all necessary documents to your NHSRA member portal(including MS membership and minor's release). Once you have completed that process, your name will be added to the drop down list. If you have questions, contact the secretary.
LATE FEES: A $25 late fee will be added to all entries submitted up to 4 days after the entry deadline. After the late fee deadline expires, online entries will close and you cannot enter the rodeo online. If you still wish to enter the rodeo, there will be a Last Chance Late Fee of $400 imposed. You must contact the secretary directly to enter under this exception. You cannot request to be up on a certain night. The deadline for entering under the Last Chance Late Fee is the Thursday of the week of the rodeo.
REQUESTS: The 2026-2027 season will allow a contestant to make 6 rodeo night requests. The 6 requests now apply to Friday and Saturday nights. Please do not move the arrow from the middle (Any Perf), unless you are actually needing a request. Keep in mind that if you are in Team Roping and make a request, it will count as a request for both team members. If you have a traveling partner and they make a request, it will count as a request for you, too. If a contestant draws all events on one night (when a night is not specified during the online entry process; aka: Any Perf is selected), this IS NOT A REQUEST.
If you need an additional request, you will need to send a letter of explanation to the board at least two weeks before the entry deadline for that rodeo.
NOTES TO SECRETARY
You can make a note during Online Entry to let the secretary know who your "Traveling Partner" is. This is NOT to be up the same night as your friends, but it is a true traveling situation for siblings, shared horses, or if this person is your actual ride to the event.
You may also make a note to the secretary if you would like all of your events on the same night or if you would like to split your events (however, a request to compete in a certain event on a certain night will be counted as one of your requests).
***ENTRY FEES & PAYMENT PROCEDURE FOR 2026-2027***
RODEO ENTRY FEES: $40 each event
**$20 ADMIN FEE PER CONTESTANT AT EACH RODEO**
**$25 LATE FEE IF ENTERED AFTER THE ONLINE ENTRY DEADLINE**
Your entry receipt does not reflect the additional fees, so be sure to add them to your total entry fees. Each partner in team roping is responsible for paying his/her own fees.
YOU WILL ENTER ALL RODEOS ONLINE. ALL FEES WILL BE PAID AT THE RODEO.
All entry fees, admin fees, and any late fees owed must be paid at the rodeo by cash or check. All fees must be paid BEFORE the rodeo starts (if you are competing in Saturday slack, fees must be paid before slack starts).
DRAW OUT: You may draw out of a rodeo by the Sunday prior to the rodeo on Friday without a doctor or vet excuse & receive a refund of entry fees. Doctor and veterinarian releases must be received by the Secretary BEFORE THE STOCK DRAW AT 5:30 P.M. ON THE NIGHT YOU ARE COMPETING to receive a refund of entry fees. You may text the message and send a photo of the release through text or email.
NON-NOTIFIED TURN OUTS: If you turn out of a rodeo and do not notify the secretary before the stock draw at 5:30 p.m., you will be charged a $25 fine, plus entry fees. All fines and entry fees must be paid before you will be allowed to compete at a subsequent rodeo.
The 2026-27 MHSRA Regulations page is under the Forms & Links tab. NHSRA Rulebooks will be in your member packet. You will pick up your member packet at your first rodeo.
